Siamese have fascinated folks around the world since they were first officially exported from Thailand, or as it was known then Siam, in the late eighteen hundreds. Their sleek lines, striking color contrast, finely chiseled aristocratic heads, deep blue almond eyes, and short silky coats make them living art. Combine this beauty with acute intelligence, inquisitive personality and a loving nature and you have the essence of the Siamese cat.
The first Siamese to appear in England were a gift from Siam to an ambassador who brought them home. They began appearing in English cat shows almost immediately, and in American shows by the early twentieth century.
Seal points, still the best known variety, were the first to arrive. With their seal brown, almost black extremities and their pale fawn bodies, they were sensational. While chocolate points, with creamy white bodies and milk chocolate legs, tail, mask and ears did appear from time to time, it was the blue point that gained official recognition in 1934. The blue point has a bluish-white body with slate blue points. The chocolate point was recognized next. In 1955 the lilac point followed and completed the breed. The lilac point has pinkish gray points with a white body which makes it most ethereal and delicate in color.

While color is a prominent feature of this breed, structure is also important. The Siamese is a study in length. From the start the breed standard has called for a long, wedge shaped head and elongated body lines. The muscular, tubular body is supported by long legs and graced by a long neck and tail. Paradoxically the short, close lying coat accentuates the long lines perfectly.
The long Siamese head is delineated by an absolutely straight profile and well aligned chin. From the front, the outline of the face presents a smooth wedge with large ears that complete the wedge. The outstanding feature of the head is the pair of deep blue almond eyes (an eye’s width apart) which are set at a slant. If you have been able to resist all the other attributes of this breed, the eyes will captivate you. They radiate intelligence and emotion.
This ancient breed, perhaps the oldest of all our cats, is able to communicate like no other. The Siamese voice is legendary. They speak both with their voice and with their body. They are the quintessential “people” cat, for they love to be in your lap, on your bed, at your table--and in your heart!

Pricing on Siamese usually depends on type, applicable markings and bloodlines distinguished by Grand Champion (GC), National or Regional winning parentage (NW or RW) or of Distinguished Merit parentage (DM). The DM title is achieved by the dam (mother) having produced five CFA grand champion/premier (alter) or DM offspring, or sire (father) having produced fifteen CFA grand champion/premier or DM offspring. Usually breeders make kittens available between twelve and sixteen weeks of age. After twelve weeks, kittens have had their basic inoculations and developed the physical and social stability needed for a new environment, showing, or being transported by air. Keeping such a rare treasure indoors, neutering or spaying and providing acceptable surfaces (e.g. scratching posts) for the natural behavior of scratching (CFA disapproves of declawing or tendonectomy surgery) are essential elements for maintaining a healthy, long and joyful life.
There are CFA clubs devoted to the promotion, protection and preservation of the Siamese breed. For more information, please send inquiries to CFA, PO Box 1005, Manasquan NJ 08736-0805.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is an American 1975 drama film directed by Miloš Forman. The film is an adaptation of the 1962 novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey. The movie was the first to win all five major Academy Awards (Best Picture, Actor in Lead Role, Actress in Lead Role, Director, Screenplay) since It Happened One Night in 1934, an accomplishment not repeated until 1991, by The Silence of the Lambs.
There had been an earlier stage version of the book, in 1963, but the film does not use the script of the stage version.
The movie was filmed at Oregon State Hospital in Salem, Oregon, which was the setting of the novel.

I'm like the evening stories...
My Dearest,
i have a little story, accordingly, instead of a quick solution, you chose that certainly which the natural course of things would be bound to bring...
...And he felt no special desire to see her, he couldn't even remember exactly how she looked, but he wanted to talk to her..
...And no time is to be lost, so in his confusion she whispered through...
...You are beginning it all over again. If you would only realize your position and situation, and if you wouldn't insist on uselessly annoying us two, who probably mean better by you stand closer to you than any other people in the world..
And it probably exist nowhere but in your own head..

to rise from this
i'll be true again
today was such an incredibly beautiful day. it felt just like the birth of spring. oh and i really hope that this weekend is just as wonderful. these photographs were taken by the hathaway bridge. it was so windy and lovely. there were two young men about my age a ways down the beach i was watching because i was nervous that they were going to look over and see me running back and fourth like a crazy person because i had to keep setting my self timer and then posing again and again. i just always feel weird about doing the self timer thing in front of others. i dont know what it is about me.
but the boys were actually not paying attention at all because they had this little motorized truck they were driving around in the mud. it was kinda funny actually. seeing practically grown men driving a little toy truck around with a remote control. something about the scenario made me happy.
tomorrow i am planning on having a night out with my mother. sushi from out favorite chefs and maybe to go see Revolutionary Road. then saturday i am going to my first actual professional fashion shoot to be an assistant photographer. i am really excited about it and have no idea what to expect. kinda nervous too.

Johann Nepomuk Hummel 1
Johann Nepomuk Hummel 1
Johann Nepomuk Hummel or Jan Nepomuk Hummel (14 November 1778 – 17 October 1837) was a composer and virtuoso pianist of Austrian origin who was born in Pressburg (present-day Bratislava, Slovakia). His music reflects the transition from the Classical to the Romantic musical era. Hummel was born in Pressburg (now Bratislava), Slovakia. His father, Josef Hummel, was the director of the Imperial School of Military Music in Vienna and the conductor there of Schikaneder's Theater Orchestra. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart offered the boy music lessons at the age of eight after being impressed with his ability. Hummel was taught and housed by Mozart for two years free of charge and made his first concert appearance at the age of nine, at one of Mozart's concerts. Hummel's father then led him on a European tour, arriving in London, where he received instruction from Muzio Clementi and stayed for four years before returning to Vienna. In 1791, Franz Joseph Haydn, who was in London at the same time as young Hummel, composed a sonata in A flat for Hummel, who played its premiere in the Hanover Square Rooms in Haydn's presence. When Hummel finished, Haydn reportedly thanked the young man and gave him a guinea. The outbreak of the French Revolution and the following Terror caused Hummel to cancel a planned tour through Spain and France. Instead he concertized his way back to Vienna. Upon Hummel's return to Vienna he was taught by Johann Georg Albrechtsberger, Haydn, and Antonio Salieri. In 1804, Hummel succeeded Haydn as Kapellmeister to Prince Esterházy's establishment at Eisenstadt. He held this post for seven years before being dismissed for neglecting his duties. Following this, he toured Russia and Europe and married the opera singer Elisabeth Röckel. They had two sons.

Description Znam-2-3-11-23-31.svg
Graphical demonstration that 1 = 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/11 + 1/23 + 1/31 + 1/(2×3×11×23×31). Each row of squares has k squares of side length 1/k, for some k in the set {2,3,11,23,31,47058}; for instance the first row has two squares of side length 1/2. Thus, each row of squares has area 1/k, and all six rows together exactly cover a unit square. The bottom row, with 47058 squares of side length 1/47058, would be too small to see in the figure, and is not shown. Sets of integers such that 1 = \sum 1/x_i + \prod 1/x_i, such as the set {2,3,11,23,31} used to construct this figure, correspond to solutions of Znám's problem. As all numbers in the set {2,3,11,23,31} are prime, their product 47058 is a primary pseudoperfect number."
