Amarcord 1973 İtalya Fransa ortak yapımı yarı otobiyografik dramatik filmdir. Türkiye'de de bütün dünyada olduğu gibi özgün ismi ile gösterime sunulmuştur.
Senaryosunu Federico Fellini'nin Tonino Guerra ile birlikte yazdıkları filmi Fellini yönetmiştir. Filmin müzikleri Fellini'nin birçok filminin müziğini yapan Nino Rota'ya aittir. Görüntüleri ise yine gedikli görüntü yönetmeni Giuseppe Rotunno çekmiştir.
"Amarcord" (a m'arcord) Federico Fellini'nin doğduğu şehir olan Rimini'de konuşulan, İtalyanca'nın Emilia-Romagna lehçesinde "Hatırlıyorum" anlamına gelmektedir (İtalyancası "io mi ricordo"). Bu yarı-otobiyografik film de zaten Fellini'nin 1930'lu yıllarda çocukluktan gençliğe adım atarken memleketi olan Rimini'de yaşadıklarına gördüklerine dayanmaktadır. Sadece çocukluk anılarını değil aynı zamanda Faşist Mussolini'nin iktidarda olduğu II. Dünya Savaşı öncesi İtalya'sında adım adım yaklaşan toplumsal çatışmaları haber veren bir dönemi de resmetmektedir. Rüya gibi anıların çarpıcı fantezilerle harmanlandığı filmin duygulu şiirsel bir dili vardır.
Amarcord 1975 yılındaki En İyi Yabancı Film Akademi Ödülü de dahil tam 13 ödül kazandı. Fellini "En iyi yönetmen" ve "En iyi özgün senaryo" dallarında da Oscar'a aday gösterildi.

Ever since the violence between Muslim Uighurs and Han Chinese, a fear of fanaticism has taken hold. Is the government's decision to demolish the Uighur area Kashgar really due to an earthquake threat?
Kashgar is a cultural icon. Parts of the city have stood for 2000 years and within its labyrinth, Uighur traditions are unchanged. 'We live as we did in the old times' says Tursun, a 6 generation pot thrower. But times are changing. Beijing's deputy mayor has announced that destruction of the old town is the only way to prepare for an earthquake threat. 'I spent my whole childhood in this place. If they destroy it, we can't continue our business' cries one of Kashgar's many blacksmiths. Many Uighur's are convinced that the authorities 'never tell the truth'. Yet some are happy to be rehoused in government buildings, admitting that their homes are dangerous. Kashgar is of great strategic value for China - if small separatist groups here link with Taliban insurgents across the border, there could be a full-scale armed conflict in Western China. 'If a handful of religious extremists, or international terrorists appear, we will crack down on them immediately' says Beijing's deputy mayor. His plan could rebuild a sour relationship. Or give the Uighurs a new reason to throw off Chinese occupation of their homeland.

Cape Chelyuskin (Russian: мыс Челюскина) is the northernmost point of the Eurasian continent, and the northermost point of mainland Russia. It is situated at the tip of the Taymyr Peninsula, south of Severnaya Zemlya archipelago, in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. The landhead has a 17 m high light on a framework tower.

Sailing Alone Around the World
by Joshua Slocum (1844-1909)Joshua Slocum was the first man to sail around the world alone in a small boat. He personally rebuilt an 11.2 metre sloop-rigged fishing boat that he named the Spray. On April 24, 1895, he set sail from Boston, Massachusetts. More than three years later, he returned to Newport, Rhode Island, on June 27, 1898 having circumnavigated the world, a distance of 46,000 miles (74,000 km).
In 1899 he described the voyage in Sailing Alone Around the World now considered a classic of travel literature. It is a wonderful adventure story from the Age of Sail and a book of which Arthur Ransome declared, “boys who do not like this book ought to be drowned at once.”
